Release 202407 brings important new features, including the option to install Tor and enable onion services for your domains. These services use the .onion top-level domain (instead of .com, .net, .org, etc.) and are accessible exclusively through the Tor network.
This functionality is an effective tool against censorship, as it avoids DNS blocking that might be applied by some ISPs or governments.
As for anonymity, if you need to ensure that your content cannot be linked to your server address, the recommendation is to run Tor on a server without a public IP address. Although we have successfully tested OnionScan in our setup, it is important to note that Maadix exposes the public IP of the server, as it uses it for services installed by default (email, SSH and Apache for the control panel). Therefore, if your application requires a high level of anonymity, this solution may not be suitable.
